We are focused on rescuing pigeons in southwest Minnesota that are in need of care. Pigeons are strong, tough and resilient birds that adapt to most anything that happens to them. But sometimes, they need our help! Each individual pigeon life is extremely important, and we are eager to accept any pigeon in any condition.
Rehab looks different for every pigeon; it all depends on what type of shape they are in. Pigeons with more complicated ailments are taken to an avian vet whether that is for antibiotics, surgery, etc. For those who have it a little bit easier, they are treated right in our home. Rehabilitation is not easy. It is hard and can be very sad, but we do the very best that we can to get all the pigeons in our care back to good health to live happy lives!
For pigeons that are unable to return to their wild homes, they stay with us! This can be due to permanent injuries, lack of survival skills, imprinting and other factors, which we are happy to deal with. Any pigeon that can be released back is taken to a local flock to start enjoying the wild side again.
